It’s Sweater Day!

To celebrate Sweater Day, Kate is wearing her Perfect Turtleneck, made out of Lopi.  (Yes, I know. I do wear a long-sleeve t-shirt underneath.)

Keeping warm the woolly way.

What are you wearing? [Keep it clean, folks.]

My Aidez, made from Eco Wool. I pretty much haven’t taken it off since I finished it in early January. I’m in love.

I’m wearing a cotton cable sweater from Kohl’s. I know, I know. Embarrassingly, I haven’t finished my first attempt at a sweater yet. I’ve had so many failures lately that I’m afraid to pick it up again.

I’m wearing a very Canadian sweater – it was dyed, spun, and knit by a Canadian, me! And I need it, too. Even though it’s above zero here in Vancouver, the perpetual damp makes one perpetually chilly, unless you cover up in good woolens.

I’m wearing a Alafoss Icewool handknit, but purchased in Sweden (in 1984!). It has served me well and reminds me of a special trip and friend.

I’m wearing a shrug with a dress today. It’s not the most warm, but it is very comfortable. Because it isn’t super warm, I also have a scarf (though it is a machine made fabric deely).

As my first sweater is currently on the needles, I’m wearing an old commercial one my sister gave me.
But just to say it : my first sweater is the bayside pullover made with madelinetosh tosh merino light in baltic colorway! 😀

My first sweater does not have sleeves yet, so for now I will wear this store bought thing. I still count myself as participating. Your sweater looks very nice.

Comfort Sweater- Fair Isle Alice Starmore, Marina- circa 19..more than 15 years ago. Yes, yes, I know the cuffs need mending.

It is too hot in Australia to think about sweaters! It’s 37 degrees celsius/98.6 farenheit here today! the southern hemisphere should get it’s own sweater day in June. 🙂

Here in sunny northern California it was 70 degrees Fahrenheit today. Too warm to wear a nice wooly sweater, but the perfect temperature to be knitting one, so that is what I did today.

Thanks for the excuse for focussing knitting instead of something else (like laundry).

Here in a damp and chilly Cheshire, UK, I am wearing a simple long-sleeved, v-necked 4ply jumper (Patons pattern printed in 1977)made last year, with my green Holden Shawlette (triangular shawl) around my neck. Cosy!

I was behind in my knittyblog reading this week so I didn’t know about sweater day! But earlier this week I finished my Amused sweater and wore it on Wednesday. So I was a day early, I guess. 🙂

For sweater day, I wore the lightest weight cotton blend sweater in my closet. My apologies to those of you in cooler climes, but here in the San Francisco Bay area we are enjoying a very spring-like day with temps in the low 70’s (F), and my office is always way too hot for me – winter or summer.

Didn’t realize it was sweater day (where the heck was ?!) but I was wearing one of my favourites – the Texturized Tweed Sweater by Stefanie Japel that I made in Galway Highland Heather.
