What to Knit When It’s Hot? A knitbot Linen Giveaway!

Hannah Fettig has released a collection of 6 gorgeous unconstructed patterns knit out of Quince & Co. linen yarn,  Sparrow.

There is nothing like knitting with linen when it’s too hot for wool. Quince & Co Sparrow is divine, smooth and crisp to knit with, then it gets buttery soft the more you wear it.

Hannah’s patterns in linen are fluttery and full of swing. Just looking at them just makes me feel cooler.

That tank top is gorgeous. May have to pick up some linen ASAP. If only I had a book with the patterns…

  2. Lotta

Just yesterday we were talking about knitting with linen and I always wanted to try it. This book may be the peferct to get me started.

  3. Mackenzie

Ah, I do need to refresh my knitting mojo this summer. Without AC I’m totally feeling the lack of love for wool.

  4. Jackie Sas

The sweater is great, I have been looking for a lightweight sweater pattern and yarn. This is the perfect pair. I need a sweater to wear at work in the air conditioning. Thank you for the idea.

  5. lisa

I love knitbot patterns, I love knitting, I love summer, and I love linen. Its all too perfect! Thanks for prodding me into bringing it all together!

  6. Lisa

Beautiful! I’ve been in a bit of a slump lately, but those colors and drape are perking my fingers right back up 🙂

It is hard to find a good pattern for linen—I would love this collection of all 6. Thank you for the opportunity to win this great prize.

  9. Lila B.

Both cardigans look interesting. I knit with a linen/merino blend last summer and loved the end result. Have been looking for a linen project to try for summer wear.

  10. Carolyn

I love Hannah’s patterns and have the Knitbot Essentials. I have used many if the patterns in it and love the various styles. Since I’m having spinal neck surgery tomorrow, I’m thinking linen would be a nice, cool material to knit with while I recuperate. Keep the great patterns coming, Hannah!

  11. Katie V.

Currently knitting a scarf with Quince & Co. Sparrow and love it. Would love to knit more with it!

  12. Marilyn (Merry) Fenton

Too hot to knit with wool? Isn’t that what AC is for? : )

I’ve been reading about this book. It looks really interesting, and I haven’t knit with linen much at all. Thanks for sponsoring the giveaway!

  14. emilie

I love linen too, I’m actually designing a linen shawl right now 🙂
Thanks for the giveaway, I immediately fell in love with Hannah’s designs when they came out… hope I’ll get the signed copy !

  15. Emmy

I’ve been looking at working in linen some for a dress; my experience with linen fabric had me looking at linen blended with something else. Perhaps I’ll have to look at Quince instead. And that blue cardigan is so cute!

  16. Nike Eve

Linen is such a joy to wear in the summer! This post reminds me that I have a pair of linen pants I need to hem up before it gets too cool to wear them. Not that it’s gonna cool down any time soon here! 😉

  17. MzTallulah

I’m working on a Mini Water’s Edge in bamboo yarn right now (my third so far), and I’ve been meaning to knit myself a Featherweight forever. I’d love to try linen, and another one of Hannah’s petterns sounds just about right. Thank you for the giveaway!

  18. Kriste

I am knitting with sparrow for the first time and am loving it! What a fun giveaway. These patterns are perfect for these hot Texas summers!

  19. Megan

Oooh, yes please! My recent move to California from Seattle means I haven’t knit ANYTHING in months.

  20. Pam S

I haven’t knit with linen before but would love to try! Right now I’m working on a pair of socks while it is so hot. They are small enough so it doesn’t make me hot unlike the wool sweater that is also on another set of needles! Maybe in Sept. it will be cool enough.

  21. Dari Trout

I have never used linen yarn before, sounds very interesting. The patterns are fabulous!

  22. Karen Hirschfeld

I have never knit with linen after see these patterns I have to try it. Love the swingy cardi.

  23. Margo

I’m knitting with a linen cotton blend right now and really enjoying it. Next up is a vest knit with just linen! I’ll have to give sparrow a try.

  24. adrienne

I have completely lost my knitting mojo since moving to LA. I can’t seem to wrap my head around non-wooly things, but this might just be my ticket. Linen yarn? Awesome. Hannah’s patterns? Even more awesome.

  25. Thatgrrl

I love knitting with and wearing linen, but linen patterns are hard to find; this collection looks great!

  26. Emy

As I’m unpacking, I keep find yarn I’ve forgotten about. Pretty sure there’s linen somewhere, so this would be perfect!

  27. Deike

I’m so in love with Quince & Co., I want to try out aaaaaaall their yarns. And as summer is finally here, I could put a bit of Sparrow to good use!

  28. Becky

I get so excited when you feature patterns and projects with wool-free yarn, because I can’t use wool at all! Thank you!

  29. Iryna B.

I love to knit toys, shawlettes, and socks when it is hot. Of course, with wool-light, like cotton, silk, linen, and blends yarn. Thank you for the giveaway!

  33. Rachel S

I’ve never tried linen, but I’m really tempted to. I think I’d knit the Brise Cardigan or the Lineal Cardigan from that collection. They both look really comfortable.

  34. Greg

I’d love to try knitting with linen. And I keep looking at the knitbot patterns, coming *this close* to buying them. I’d love to win. 😉

  35. Egrace

I’d love to try knitting with linen. I was going to but then I needed to spend my money on other things this summer. If I don’t win then I’ll try knitting with linen next summer if I have the money.

I’ve never knit with linen before, but these look absolutely lovely to work on during hot summer days.

  42. Carol

I love her stuff! I have 2 patterns from her in my queue! But if I had the linen patterns, I could start one now, with the knitpiks linen blend delivered Monday! Instead of waiting until fall to start the wool yarns I have lineup!

  43. Vasiliki Starborn

I’ve only knit with Linen once and I enjoy my FO. I would love another opportunity to work with Linen again.

I just discovered knitting with linen this summer. Love it! Perfect yarn for NC summers. These patterns are amazing.

  53. Reb

It’s no wonder I haven’t picked up the needles for a couple weeks . . . I love wool but I know it is sitting there, quietly generating heat all on its own.

  54. Anne R

Oh, I love that sweater in the first photo. And this yarn looks like a dream…off to scour Rav. Please enter me in the contest!

  55. Deb White

I have knit Hannah\s patterns before- they are truly lovely. I think she has yet another winner with these.

  56. Marfisa

As someone who also cross-stitches, I’m used to using linen, which makes it weird that I’ve never actually knit a garment with it, just a single summer shawl. That cardigan is tempting me though. It’s really cute!

  57. Katie

I do love knitting with linen. The book would be perfect for helping me knit up my stash!

  58. Oni McKinstry

Hannah does it again! Linen made easy- I have stash so now only need patterns….Pick me!

I’ve never knit with linen, but for Quince and Knitbot I’d be happy to go there! What an irresistible combo.

  63. Becky

I’m allergic to most wool so I usually leave the giveaways to people who can use it but this one sounds like a good one for me to try
